How are teams able to get fields if they don't have a VEX team?

If you’re in Canada, you can probably use idesign365, but it seems like otherwise you’re out of luck. Does anyone have any ideas?

I was able to send an email to sales.vex.com and they sent me a quote. They allowed me to email a purchase order over and included items that I had saved in my cart too. They had everything processed and shipped in one day.

This is a fluid concern, with lots of factors, perceived and real. I am assuming the question is about game elements - field perimeters there are alternative providers - even foam tiles, it is not rocket science.

So, I’ve observed a few situations:

  • Pre-split - anyone was allowed to order Game sets, even pre-order before announcement
  • Post-split -
    • all teams that are registered for season on events.vex.com can order game sets
    • all EPs for season can order game sets
    • some EPs had their status removed with no notification
    • game sets have been “out of stock” again for registered teams - but indication the game sets will be back in stock shortly

It is a complicated issue to be sure. There is no simple one size fits all.

Happy to use paper and plastic cups as game objects and have goals be a wood working project for students to learn how manufacture objects.

I would love to hear others opinions, is it all doom and gloom due to FUD, or an opportunity to develop local solutions that can scale every where?

You could 3d print the game elements and goals. It may not be perfect, but it is a good start while global and recf figure stuff out.
